What sparked your interest in music?
I was eight years' old and accompanied my dad, a heating engineer, to one of his clients who owned a discotheque. I ended up in the DJ's cabin, which was revelation for me. I had always been fascinated by the sound, decoration and lighting in clubs. Once back home, I hooked up two speakers to my record player to try a mix. I was off!
Your best musical memory?
In 1992, when I discovered the worlds of underground and House music. I was finally able to put a name to what I liked and what I had been listening to as electro-music all these years.
What do you like about fashion?
It is a universe immersed in music. You can see it in the collections. I am trying to propose something different. I put myself into sponge mode, like a DJ, to capture the energy, shake it all up and illustrate it musically. I get lots of ideas for a shooting or a fashion show; I know at once what piece of music I would like to listen to at that instant.
What's on your play list?
I was weaned on Otis Redding, then R&B, then jazz with Ella Fitzgerald. My mother listened to a lot of music. As an only son, I was often alone at home so I monopolised her record players and records. Then I discovered funk, disco, house…
What is the craziest thing that you have been asked to do ?
Set a firework display to music for a personality's over the top birthday party. Everything was timed to the second, and subject to many constraints, which pushed me to excel myself. I worked four days to play for 10 minutes. Unbelievable!
Your current activity?
I am talent scouting for DJs to work with me on hotel and luxury brasserie play lists, which I have been looking after for several years. But I am thinking, above all, about setting up a label. At the end of the 90s, we produced several maxis with a friend, which now change hands for a king's ransom. We have decided to bring them out again. The label will thus be born naturally, which is very exciting
