« Sensuality is the most important component to me. I want to be drawn into the picture when I see it. My years in Paris has given me this approach to style.»
What is your signature?
Sensuality is the most important component to me. I want to be drawn into the picture when I see it. My years in Paris has given me this approach to style.
What is the most complicated task ever demanded of you?
To launch a magazine, which I have done twice with Jalouse magazine and later Glamour. Nothing is more challenging and exciting than to create a concept from A-Z.
What inspires you?
Travel, architecture and the sense of fragrance, color and people in any given time or place.
And the job that you won’t forget?
I once arranged a photoshoot for Jalouse in Bollywood with photographer Rishad Mistri. An incredible location with all the different sets, people and heat! It was made even more intense by my having to do all the dressing and hair/makeup myself. That whole week we were surrounded by several productions, hundreds of people dancing and singing around us. Fabulous.
Working with Jean-Baptiste Mondino on several perfume campaigns and video shoots. (Jean -Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Davidoff)...He is truly the master in this domaine.
I have also shot with Hip hop legend Jamel Shabazz who documented the Brooklyn scene in the 80's in his book Back in the days, we did a street casting and shot in various cool locations in the city. The day felt like the best party ever!
What do you see as modern in today’s stylism ?
To be able to propose different styles and avoid total looks, which is a challenge… A silhouette is always more appealing with a personal touch.
