Aurélie Le Bihan

What is your signature ?

Precision is my watchword. I like to do things well, be they simple or more complex. The work must be clean and neat.

What is the most complicated task ever demanded of you?

The one most frequently requested: to put on a varnish that must be dry before application! Brands are now on notice that I am available to test all their new formulae…

What inspires you?

The magic of  colours! I love colours, to pair, mix and create them. What is very exciting is the surprise effect that this can generate. I put them together jointly with the artistic team and in harmony with the shoot’s make-up, fashion design and atmosphere.

And the job that you won’t forget?

My shoots with animals! They inject such an unpredictable and spontaneous dimension! I had the good fortune to take part in various projects, notably with Olivia Da Costa for Gordana Dimitrijevic and with Romain Favre for Dog Fever. I appreciate these two photographers’ specialities as much as their talent. I also recall with emotion the first time I came upon pictures for which I had collaborated in a shop window. I was very proud and filled with a feeling of accomplishment. It was intense.  They were pictures of the Ofée campaign shoot. Everything worked out marvellously with a charming team and Virginie Ledoyen as a superb symbol. Moreover, I had the pleasure of renewing this lovely collaboration this year.

What do you see as modern in today’s manicure

Women favour short, coloured nails. They display colour, but have yet to try COLOURS! I would love to spot one hand with one colour and the other with another. The combinations could be expanded…. Women are starting to wear different colours simultaneously on their hands and feet. Why not do the same thing on each hand now? Think outside the box!
